Our newest program, the Parent-Child Course is intended for children ages 8 weeks to 2 years and their parents.
The course is an introduction to Montessori and offers information on how to implement Montessori principles at home. It is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child in an environment designed to meet the specific developmental needs of the young child.
During an eight-week session, the class meets one or two mornings per week. Children explore the materials of their classroom, enjoy a snack together and, weather-permitting, spend some time outdoors on our playground. Parents remain with their children and, with the guidance of an AMI-certified Assistant to Infancy (A to I) guide, discuss ways to support the young child’s natural development, including when it is appropriate to intervene with the child’s work, how to foster language development and toilet training. Parents also have the opportunity to observe their children at work. It is truly a lovely experience.
